My Experience in Editorial Content Production and Journalism
FT Live, Financial Times
Senior Content Editor: September 2021 - Present
I execute first-class content for the conferences and events division of the Financial Times. Managing events end-to-end for publications such as The Banker, Professional Wealth Management (PWM), and Investors’ Chronicle, I deliver against tight deadlines, supporting the fast-paced growth of the FT Specialist team. Throughout my time at the Financial Times, I have been entrusted with leading content production for all wealth management-focused events, ranging from flagship multi-day conferences to high-impact Chatham House roundtables.
The Palatinate, Durham University
Comment Writer: December 2020 - September 2021
Following my previous role as Deputy Editor of Illustrations, I wrote political Comment articles for The Palatinate, Durham University’s official student newspaper. Examples of my writing can be found at https://www.palatinate.org.uk/a-pandemicpanto-with-robotic-stars/.
Hatfield College Charity Fashion Show
Marketing Director: December 2020 - Present
As Marketing Director for HCCFS, I managed all social media platforms, whilst coordinating my efforts closely with the Sponsorship team to maximise advertising scope with sponsors.
News Associates
Summer Journalism School: August 2020
A hands-on summer school at News Associates tested my ability to work under pressure, as a breaking news task required us to write with clarity and accuracy, whilst adapting to new information and adhering to a tight deadline and wordcount.
The journalism school functioned as my first introduction to media law, and I now understand the importance of the right of reply. During the breaking news exercise, we remained cautious to accuse a FTSE 100 company of corporate negligence without verification. I understood the importance of scepticism when it comes to interrogating data, and will now be eager to demonstrate facts and trends using striking infographics in the future.
The Wayfarer
Student Blogger: March 2020 - Present
The Wayfarer has been my personal project since March 2020, when I decided to use my creativity to navigate the unsettling times of the Coronavirus pandemic. My blog articles are published on a regular basis. I have tremendous fun writing them, and hope that they make for a good read. Comments and opinions from my readers are always more than welcome - I look forward to hearing from you!
Durham University Pro Bono Blog
Human Rights Writer: November 2019Â - Present
As Human Rights Writer for Durham University’s Pro Bono Blog, I have honed my legal journalistic skills, tackling pressing issues such as threats to liberty of expression in Egypt and Lebanon and persecution of the Uyghurs in China.
Sur in English, Malaga
Newsroom Intern: July 2019 - October 2019
My year abroad in Spain culminated in a three-month journalism internship at Sur, part of leading multimedia communications group, Vocento. I contributed to the English supplement of the publication, which boasts a readership of 260,000.

My clear understanding of Spanish texts enabled me to turn them round into news pieces in English swiftly and accurately. A diligent and conscientious approach to tasks meant that I quickly adapted to multimedia software, working with print and digital media.

I took the initiative to thoroughly research topics, ensuring that my original articles were well-written and balanced. I demonstrated impressive interpersonal communication skills during telephone and face-to-face interviews, even prompting messages of praise from interviewees after publication.
MRM Media Ltd/The Cloud, Content, and Telecoms Summit 2019
Editing and Preparation of Documentation: April 2019
The Intelligent Network provides a high-level members' organisation that brings together exclusively C-level executives from the carrier, service provider, cloud, and content community.

I was responsible for the writing, editing, and preparation of documents ahead of CCT 2019 (The Cloud, Content and Telecoms Summit). Tasks included editing speaker biographies to a flawless standard and writing concise information guides for participants from companies such as Amazon, Facebook, Google, Microsoft, and Vodafone.

Through smart planning, considered prioritisation, and adhesion to strict deadlines, I contributed to the smooth running of the international event. The unique event platform for dialogue on the business of global connectivity and infrastructure played a crucial role in the development of my commercial understanding.
Webpac, Madrid
Content Creation Intern: August 2018 - February 2019
I spent six months interning in the Content Department at Webpac, Madrid. Webpac is the world’s first cloud-based platform for brands and packaging suppliers. Clients serviced from the Pharmaceutical, Beauty, Food, and Household markets include market giants Unilever, TricorBraun, RPC Group, and Silgan Dispensing Systems.

My primary roles during my six-month internship at Webpac included writing and generating online content, editing articles, and translating from Spanish to English, with the aim of guaranteeing successful online exposure for major brands within the packaging industry.
I am particularly proud of how content and data I generated played its part in securing a contract with the multi-billion-pound client Unilever.
Challenged by urgent deadlines, I worked directly for the COO, collaborated with Sales and Marketing, and was driven to perform under pressure, ultimately impressing Unilever with the seamless delivery of the project.

The Chat, Hatfield College, Durham University
Deputy Editor; Reporter: October 2016 - June 2017
As Deputy Editor, I played an instrumental role in the initial establishment of Hatfield College’s independent student newspaper. The editorial position emphasised to me the need for efficient delegation, coordination, and collaboration, as I managed our team of writers effectively in order to meet tight publication deadlines.
